THEY ARE PREDATOR CONTROL... They stay on guard all night so you can sleep
They don't want to live in the house... They don't even want to be in a doghouse
They sleep outdoors all year round and love the coldest weather. They are always on watch.
The Maremmas are a 2000 year old breed of Livestock Guardians from high in the Italian Alps. They have been bred to watch over sheep and goats and keep the wolves and coyotes away.
We will NOT sell these livestock guardians as Pets, they are Working Farm Animals. They do not act the way pets do because they have a very strong work ethic, they are always on the job.
Maremmas must live outdoors all the time and have acreage to roam and other animals to protect. Pure white double fur breed, hardy as a polar bear. Very large animals. The female will be approx. 100 lbs. and the male will be about 150 lbs. In the winter, they love to sleep in the snow, and eat snow. In the summer they shed their heavy coats, and need to be brushed out. The adult guardians jump the fence if they need to be in with the goats to protect them.

At night time they warn the wolves and coyotes away by barking, but if pressed, they will attack and kill the wolf or coyote. They have been known to attack bears and mountain lions too. We don't even have rabbits in our gardens! No predators come within 1000s of feet near our farm. They protect our goats, sheep, chickens, ducks and us. We can sleep at night because we hear them at work.
Our first litter of 9 baby Maremmas were born on January 24, 2014.
There is one Female and one Male available. They have been weaned, wormed, first series of shots given and are available for "Adoption" NOW for $750.
Each one has a Certificate of Good Health and an Inoculation Log Book.
The sire, Lorenzo, has purebred papers filed and registered. There are five males and four females.
